Darina finds herself confused and alone again. Her boyfriend and only love has just recently died, and nobody seems to understand her conflicting emotions. She finds herself lonely and scared, without any idea of what to do next. One night, while aimlessly wandering, trying to find herself, she runs into Pheonix, her boyfriend, again. Pheonix. Her DEAD boyfriend. Is she finally going crazy? Is her mind just twisting itself in circles, letting her see what she wants to see? Or has she stumbled into something bigger then her?
Jonas died almost a year ago in the same motorcycle accident that maimed his long term girlfriend, Zoey. But was it really an accident? With no bystanders anywhere near, the only thing people had to rely on is Zoey. However, she can't remember a thing. Jonas has come back to clear the mystery of his death, but is given only one year to do so. Can he put his girlfriend's mind to rest, while still learning the dark secrets of his death?
When given the chance to spend a little more time with her lost lover, Darina agrees to help the Beautiful Dead, the people of her village who recently died, all in strange ways. Four people that she has known for her entire life... Four people who have all died. The leader of the Beautiful Dead agrees to let her keep her memory of her time spent with Pheonix, as long as she helps them all to unravel their strange deaths. The problem? She has a time limit. Each of the Beautiful Dead is allowed on Earth for a second chance, but only for a year, before another soul lost in limbo comes to take their place. Agreeing to keep them a secret, along with help them with whatever she can, Darina is faced with her first dead friend, and his problem. Jonas, and the confusing events surrounding his death. Will she be able to solve his death before his time runs out?
This book is a roller coaster of emotion, pulling at your heart strings at every twist and turn. Anyone who has lost a loved one can share the pain of the characters. You will cry, laugh, smile, and scream along with the characters. The twisted storyline keeps you guessing, and every moment keeps you intrigued. Will she make it? Will she not? Putting down this book is almost impossible, and when you do, the interesting and colorful characters never leave your mind. Even after you close the book, you can still feel the beating of wings, and hear the whispered words spoken by lost loved ones. This is a real masterpiece!
