Book Ratings
Rating systems for HGB
We will place age ratings as well as ratings for the books contents. HGB is not responsible if a minor buys a book that is inappropriate for their age group. We will specify by the following ratings as to whether or not we believe that a book is appropriate and for what age group. As we cover a varied amount of genres, we are adding this rating to try to ease the parent’s minds.
Age appropriate-
All ages- good for all ages young and not so young
YA- Young Adult; normally gauged towards mid to late teens
MYA- Mature Young Adult; a Young Adult novel that has some situations within it that we would suggest for 16 and up.
Adult- there is some graphic situations not suitable for young adults- unless overridden by parents.
E- Erotica- There are A LOT of adult situations that are suitable ONLY for those 18 and up. Erotica is not geared towards any of the younger audience. Erotica is material set to tantilize or tease the senses using graphic words or pictures.
